Submissions
Thank you for your interest in participating in TEFANZ Conference 2024.
Teacher Education Forum Aotearoa New Zealand (TEFANZ) Conference 2024 will be held at the University of Auckland on 11 and 12 July 2024.
It is widely accepted that a key characteristic of a ‘professional’ includes the centrality of a specialised body of knowledge that is developed through a sustained period of professional education and training. The TEFANZ 2024 Conference sets out to provoke conversations around what it means to be ‘educated as a teacher’ and what it is to be ‘trained to be a teacher’. At a time where teacher education is subject to a plethora of political postures and promises, it is crucial to consider the inherent tensions within, and the purpose of, teacher education in Aotearoa New Zealand.
We invite delegates to contribute to this conversation on the future of teacher education through sharing research findings, innovative practices and insights into the moral and political nature of our work.
Share your research findings, innovative practices, and critical insights as we collectively shape the future of initial teacher education.
